The BeastieHut Confluence Assistant addon for Confluence Cloud provides the feature to interact with Confluence via the chat menu to get data or information or perform some actions on content by writing them as text.

Queery types

Basic query types are:

  1. Get data for page/blog/comment

  2. Peform some operation on page/blog/comment/space

You can type ​what is needed to be perform to the assistant in a form of a query.

For now the data that can be retrieved is:

  • ID

  • Author

  • Creation/modification date

  • children

  • Decendants size

New data types and operation types will be gradually added.

Query structure

The query is of free text, though it shoudl contain basic elements of data for assistan to parse it and retrieve information from. It should know what page/blog/comment, etc. to operate on and what dat ato extract, so to get the author name of current page is:

current page author name author name of current page name of author of current page

To get data from other entity/page, you need to provide its ID:

page 512655361 author name author name of 512655361 page name of author of 512655361 page

To copy current page as a child of 512655361 page:

copy current page to 512655361

User Query Menu

The assistant menu has the text area field where you can enter the query for assistant to perform, like: ask about some data ot perform some operation on content.
